Today I did a naughty thing.
I went to the always wonderful Ruby Street Quilt Works. That in itself is not so naughty.
The naughty thing: I enticed a friend to go to the shop with me for the first time. It was such fun listening to her and her daughter say ooo and I NEED this and Look! and eeeeeeee! I think I will be seeing lovely fabric things in their home soon LOL
I did have another purpose for going to the shop, aside from enticing someone else into the fiber lust that I know so well:
Baby Quilt fabric selecting!
So here is what I picked out. I know some people won't see a baby quilt in this, but the fabrics are gorgeous and I really get tired of soft pastels that are all washed out without any strong design elements. Rant over. (I hope I bought enough to create lots of scraps so I can make something for me too.)
So my question... what quilt design would you make with this selection?

Oh the fabrics are so opinionated I would allow them to speak for themselves, I think, maybe a simple YBR or something similar.
I have been making bright & unusual baby quilts lately, like you I am weary of the pastels & infants can't distinguish them anyway. I like your choices!
I can see a baby quilt in there! I have made four baby quilts for my new grandchild and none of them were pastel! Have fun making the quilt!
It's going to be an awesome baby quilt!
I'm about to start knitting my one year old a lime green sweater, no pastels here :)
I have what I call an "Evil Demon Enabler" in my life. She encourages me to try new crafty things and she has taught me so much. I call her that with a smile on my face. I LOVE spending time with her! So keep on being naughty!
I have no idea about which pattern to use but I love the fabrics you've chosen.
Bento Boxes, Framed 4-Patches, Happy Blocks, Square in a Square onpoint, if more colors were added, I'd mention a Chinese Coin quilt. I'm *full* of ideas!!! j/k
